First Church of Christ, Scientist St. Catharines is a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist which is located in Boston Massachusetts. You will find branch churches and students of Christian Science in nearly every courtry of the world.

The Christian Science church was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy "...a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, Christ Jesus; which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing." Christian Science healing has been practised in the Niagara area since the early 1900s.

You and your friends are always welcome at the Sunday morning services and at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings.

Services:

Sunday 11:00 a.m.
At our Sunday morning services, we hear Bible readings from the King James version of the Bible, pray the Lord's Prayer and sing hymns. Two readers (church members) read an inspiring and healing Lesson-Sermon made up of selections from the Bible and from the Christian Science text book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

A booklet, Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons, contains the study references for the weekly sermon. It also gives the order of Sunday services, as well as other information about our church's organization.

Wednesday 7:30 p.m.
At the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, we hear readings from the Bible and Science and Health illustrating elements of spiritual healing. Individuals in the congregation give testimonies of healings and regeneration experienced through the study of Christian Science.

Sunday School 11:00 a.m.
Classes up to the age 20, in small groups, explore Bible truths, including the words and works of Christ Jesus, and learn the practical healing application of these truths in every day life. From their study of the Bible and Science and Health, they learn how to pray, and rely on God - ever present Love - to meet their every need.
